Welcome to Lawrence Elder Circle
Elderhood is the potential culmination of human development. How many people talk longingly about and look ever so forward to their “Golden Years” and then, when they arrive, don't know quite what to do with them? Many are tempted to believe that the best years of life are over.
There is a disturbing force that knows the closing chapters of life are too important to be left to chance. It pulses through the universe, inviting and compelling us to 'grow up,' to 'show up,' and do more than survive. If we stop and think about it, none of us will 'survive' anyway.
We probably didn't realize in all those decades of “growing up” that elders are meant to live in a way that is consciously different from adults. Grandparenting is not advanced parenting, and neither is elderhood advanced adulthood. The scenery changes dramatically, particularly when moving from an emphasis on doing to one of being.
